Fourteen years ago the construction industry came crashing to a halt and by no fault of mine, so did my income. I had been in business for 26 years, had lots of employees, trucks, buildings, mobile phones (the old brick ones, remember them) and equipment and created a nice living for me, my wife and our 6 children. Bam!! Holy Cow Batman what happen. Everything stopped. It didn't slow down like it had done before when interest rates went to 20%, it stopped. After I pinched myself a few times I knew I had to find a new way to make some money. Not being a tech guy but a construction guy, I spent some time on the internet looking for some way to find customers. There wasn't any, nobody could borrow money to build and those that had money were to scared to spend it. I thought how long could this last,and I knew I didn't have enough savings if it lasted very long. As I was looking for ways to find customers I read an article about how there were hundreds of people making a full time living selling on Ebay. That article was sent my God.
I am not the smartest guy in the world but if someone else is doing it, I can too. I bought courses, books and read reports on selling online in hopes of figuring out the process quickly. It took some time as there wasn't many people sharing that information 14 years ago but by trial and error I jumped in and sold a few small things. So my journey started with Ebay and progressed to Amazon and both are still growing and operating today. Learning this skill is a very valuable tool to earn money with especially in these difficult times. You can do it too. It is not hard but does take some work. Now more than ever you can learn from others and cut your learning curve by 75%.
I just left the post office and dropped off 30 prepaid packages of items that we sold this weekend. Didn't stand in line, didn't have to have every package weighted and pay for postage, just dropped them into the bin and out the door. Both Ebay and Amazon have postage printing built into their interface and you can pay and print for your postage from your home computer. Boxes? you ask? Go to USPS.com and set up an account and the postman or postwoman will bring them to your house for free. What A Deal.
Yes business is booming even being under a shelter at home quarantine. Online shopping is through the roof and expected to increase and stay strong even after everyone goes back to work and play. People are learning that buying online is safe and convenient and doesn't cost more than going to the store.
I have been selling on Ebay and Amazon for 14 years and I have never seen it as busy as it is right now. Do you need a skill you can do from home, online and make some money when you need to? This is a skill that will always be able to help you do just that. This is a skill you can do part time and make some extra money or you can use it to build a full time income. The customers are buying online right now all you have to do is insert yourself.
